A Good Start!

A Good Start!

So Brexit negotiations start and Mrs May’s own apparent U-Turn on immigration issues, which of course were at the heart of the divisive Brexit Campaign last year, receives the comment “Good Start” from EU Officials.

What an interesting phrase…

“A Good Start”…

Isn’t that what teachers say to pupils when they have written the first sentence in an essay; made the first calculation in a maths problem; turned-up for the start of a race?

“A Good Start”…

Such an opening gambit is often followed with ‘however’, occasionally ‘but’

Why does the whole thing now seem like a scene from Oliver Twist?

A PM who far from having the firm mandate the last election was supposed to provide approaches the negotiating table with a bowl in her hand …. ‘Please Sir…??? !!!)
